Every doctor on Daktar goes through a manual credential check before their profile goes live or they can consult with patients. This page explains what we check, when we check it again, and what to do if something does not look right.
What we check
Before a doctor is approved, our team reviews their documents and confirms that the details match:
- Medical registration: We check the doctor's registration number, name and qualification against the National Medical Commission (NMC) Indian Medical Register or the relevant State Medical Council register.
- Government ID: We match a government-issued photo ID with the name on the medical registration, so the person consulting is the registered doctor.
- Degree certificates: We review degree and postgraduate certificates so that the qualifications and specialty shown on the profile are backed by documents.
How often we re-verify
We check a doctor's details again whenever they change their registration, qualifications or specialty, and we periodically review active profiles. If a registration is suspended or cancelled, the doctor's profile is taken offline.
What patients see
Only doctors who pass verification are listed on Daktar and can take consultations. Each doctor's profile shows their registration number, qualifications and specialty, so you can confirm them yourself on the NMC or State Medical Council register.
How to report a concern
If something on a doctor's profile looks wrong, or you have a concern about a consultation, tell us and our team will review it. We may pause a profile while we look into a report. Reach us through our Contact Us page.
