Free Androgen Index is calculated from total testosterone and SHBG.
Why this test is performed?
Estimates the active male hormone level and is commonly used to assess androgen excess in women with PCOS, excess hair growth or acne.
Who should take this test?
Irregular or absent periods, PCOS symptoms (acne, excess hair), infertility, pregnancy planning or menopause symptoms.
