Measures chloride in a urine sample. Chloride works with sodium to maintain fluid and acid–base balance.
Helps evaluate acid–base disturbances and causes of electrolyte imbalance. A urine test shows how much is being passed by the kidneys.
Vomiting, diarrhoea, dehydration, weakness, people on BP medicines or diuretics, kidney or heart conditions.
No fasting needed. Give a first-morning, mid-stream urine sample in a sterile container.
