What Is This Test?

A blood test that measures IgG antibodies against filarial worms.

Why this test is performed?

Helps diagnose lymphatic filariasis (elephantiasis). IgG antibodies develop later and last longer, so a positive IgG usually indicates past infection or immunity (from infection or vaccination).

Who should take this test?

Fever, rash, jaundice, suspected exposure to infection, before surgery or pregnancy, as advised by a doctor.

Test Preparation

No fasting needed.
