What Is This Test?
Measures Free T4 and third-generation (ultrasensitive) TSH.
Why this test is performed?
The most commonly recommended pair to diagnose and monitor thyroid disorders, including fine-tuning thyroxine dose and detecting subclinical thyroid disease.
Who should take this test?
Tiredness, weight gain or loss, hair fall, feeling cold or hot, irregular periods, anxiety/palpitations, infertility or pregnancy planning.
Test Preparation
No fasting is needed. If you take thyroid medicine, give the sample before your daily dose (ideally in the morning) unless your doctor advises otherwise.
