Rantac 150 Tablet

Rantac 150 Tablet is a H2 blocker (antacid). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps in relief of acid related indigestion and heartburn.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rantac 150 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Most side effects do not need medical attention and go away as your body adjusts. Talk to your doctor if they bother you or do not go away.

Alcohol Ask your doctor

Alcohol use can increase acid secretion, acid reflux in food pipe causing heartburn and decreasing effect of this drug. Rantac 150 Tablet can also decrease alcohol breakdown and increase its level in blood.

Pregnancy Probably safe

Rantac 150 Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.

Breastfeeding Probably safe

Rantac 150 Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.

Driving Ask your doctor

Rantac 150 Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.

Kidney Caution

Rantac 150 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Rantac 150 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
